Youth Sports Code of Conduct
The El Cajon Parks and Recreation Department requires its staff, spectators, participants, and parents to recognize the following expectations in order to maintain a positive, safe, and healthy youth sports program. These guidelines support the department's mission to "develop youth, support families, and provide safe places."
- I will uphold good sportsmanship for my child, self, and family members.
- I will positively support coaches and officials. I may not always agree with the coaches and officials decisions, but I will not question their integrity.
- I will remember that the game is for each child’s development, whether beginner or advanced.
- I will do my best to make youth sports fun for all participants as well as my child, by supporting the program goals.
- I will attempt to relieve the pressure of competition, not increase it.
- I will applaud good plays by members of both teams.
- I will not heckle, jeer, or distract players, parents, or spectators of either team.

I will create an environment free from: drugs and alcohol, violence or threats of violence, intimidation or harassment, gambling or solicitation, profanity or abusive language, object throwing, vandalism, or property damage.
