How much does it cost to attend HauntFest?

Good news—admission is FREE! Carnival rides have a small fee, and food or vendor items will be available for purchase. Everything else is free fun for the whole family!

 

What should I bring?

Come dressed in your favorite costume and don’t forget a bag to collect all your candy and treats!  

 

Are strollers allowed?
Yes, strollers are welcome. Some areas may be crowded, so please plan accordingly.

 

Are there any prohibited items?

Yes, please refrain from bringing any of the following items to the event.

• Riding of bicycles, skateboards, scooters, skates, roller blades or other wheeled devices.
• Weapons of any kind or objects that resemble weapons (prop weapons) including toy weapons, toy guns, plastic guns, squirt guns, etc.
• Other items that City Staff determine may be disruptive to the event.  The City of El Cajon reserves the right to prohibit additional items/actions at our discretion.

Is the event accessible for people with disabilities?
Yes! The event is fully accessible, and we also offer sensory-friendly areas for guests who may need a quieter space.

 

What happens if it rains?
The event is rain or shine.  The event may be cancelled in the case of severe weather. Check our website or social media for updates.

 

Are there age or height restrictions for carnival rides?
Yes, some rides have height or age requirements for safety. Signs will be posted at each ride, and staff will be happy to assist.

 

Can I bring my own food or drinks?
Outside food and beverages are allowed, but we encourage guests to enjoy the treats and drinks available from our vendors.  No alcohol is permitted on the event grounds.

 

Is the event suitable for all ages?
Yes! There are activities, games, and entertainment for kids, teens, and adults.

 

Can I take photos or videos at the event?
Yes! We encourage photos and videos to capture the fun. Don’t forget to tag us on social media using #HauntFest!

 

Are there any parking options?
Yes, free parking is available throughout Downtown El Cajon. Please follow posted signage and only park in public parking spaces.  Please note, the Marriott parking lot is reserved for customers only.
