About Sewer Service

There are two water districts within the City who provide water service based on the location of the property: Helix Water District and Padre Dam Municipal Water District. The water district notifies the City when a property water activates/deactivates an account and provides water use information.

Sewer charges are based on the amount of the water used and the category of use at a property; the City also provides sewer service, which includes transportation to the City of San Diego's Point Loma treatment plant where it's treated and released offshore.
