The City of El Cajon offers a unique program designed to assist first-time homebuyers purchase a new or existing single-family, condominium or townhome located within the City of El Cajon city limits.

The American Dream Program may utilize a combination of HOME and Cal-Home funds for homebuyer assistance (subject to the terms of conditions found in the City’s Program Manual). Funds are available on a first-come, first-serve basis.
