Want to host an event in the public right-of-way?

  • For a small event in your neighborhood, please fill out the Block Party Special Event Application and submit through your PACO account.
  • For larger events requiring street closures and/or taking place in the El Cajon Superblock including Prescott Promenade and surrounding areas, please fill out the Special Event in the Community Application.
  • Unsure of which application to complete for your event? Give us a call at 619-441-1754.

Here are some things to consider when submitting:

  • To expedite your request, please provide complete, detailed information pertaining to your event.
  • Applications may be submitted up to 365 days in advance and it is strongly recommended that application submission be made a minimum of sixty (60) days prior to the event, especially for large or complex events.
  • Remember to keep a copy of your completed application for your reference.
  • Acceptance of your application should NOT be construed as final approval.
  • Requests may be reviewed by all City of El Cajon Departments as applicable. Any additional information, permits, insurance requirements, fees, deposits, licenses or certifications will be included in instructions provided by City Staff after your application has been reviewed.
  • All approvals, requirements and contract fees will be due a minimum of two (2) weeks prior to your event date. No permit is valid until all provisions are met.
  • Future changes to your event plans must be requested in writing and are subject to approval.

Once you submit your application, our staff will assist you with the approval and requirement process for a safe and successful event.
