In April, 2026 the El Cajon Police Department was notified by staff at Grossmont High School that they had discovered an inappropriate relationship between an adult staff member who worked as a Performance Expert and a student. The relationship occurred for approximately one month between March and April, 2026. The Grossmont Union High School District immediately terminated the suspect’s employment.  

 After a thorough investigation, an arrest warrant was obtained for the suspect. On August 24, 2026, Jayden Joe Lang, a 19-year-old resident of San Diego, CA, was arrested for 12 felony charges including statutory rape.

 There are no other known incidents involving this suspect. The El Cajon Police Department and the Grossmont Union High School District are committed to the safety of students and to thorough investigations to ensure justice for victims and accountability for offenders.
