Alicia Ledezma Sanchez was a Mexican national and mother who left Mexico to find work and to give her children a better future. In the summer of 1998, her body was found in a wooded area in El Cajon. Investigators determined that her death was the result of foul play. Alicia is survived by her three adult children, her grandchildren, and her siblings.

The El Cajon Police Department’s Cold Case Homicide Unit continues to seek information regarding the homicide investigation. Although many years have passed, investigators remain committed to pursuing all available leads and bringing clarity and justice to this case.

Even seemingly minor details or information that may have appeared insignificant at the time, could be valuable to the ongoing investigation.

Anyone who has knowledge about the circumstances surrounding this homicide, including information about the victim's activities, associates, or events leading up to the discovery on August 13, 1998, are encouraged to come forward. Investigators are particularly interested in speaking with individuals who may not have previously shared what they know.

No piece of information is too small. Advances in investigative techniques, combined with new information from the public, can help move long-standing cases forward.
