TYPE OF INCIDENT: Fatal Traffic Collision

DATE AND TIME OF INCIDENT: 8/8/26 at 12:46 AM

LOCATION OF INCIDENT: 1600 Pepper Dr., El Cajon, CA

SUMMARY OF INCIDENT:

On Saturday, August 8, 2026, at approximately 12:46 AM, the El Cajon Police Department received reports of a traffic collision involving a motorcycle. Officers responded to the emergency call with Heartland Fire and began CPR on the motorcycle rider. Paramedics pronounced the rider, a 43-year-old male resident of El Cajon, deceased at the scene. The motorcycle rider had been traveling east on Pepper Dr. and lost control, colliding with multiple parked vehicles.

The roadway remained closed for several hours while officers investigated the scene. Excessive speed appears to be a factor. Drug and alcohol impairment are unknown and will be determined by the Medical Examiner’s Office.
