TYPE OF INCIDENT: Hit & Run Collision

DATE AND TIME OF INCIDENT: 11/04/2025 at 3:28 p.m.

LOCATION OF INCIDENT: 400 block of Fletcher Parkway, El Cajon CA

On November 4, 2025, at approximately 3:28 p.m., the El Cajon Police Department received 911 calls reporting a collision between a vehicle and a pedestrian in the 400 block of Fletcher Parkway.

Officers arrived on scene and found a 70-year-old man suffering from a serious head injury – he was transported to the hospital and is expected to survive. The involved vehicle had fled prior to their arrival.

Witnesses provided officers with a detailed description of the suspect vehicle, including its license plate number. Police dispatchers immediately utilized the department’s Automated License Plate Reader (ALPR) system to locate the suspect vehicle and provide updates as it traveled through the city. While monitoring ALPR images and video, dispatchers observed front-end damage consistent with the collision.

Within minutes, officers detained the vehicle and driver, who later admitted involvement in the incident. Thanks to quick-thinking witnesses and advanced ALPR technology, the hit-and-run suspect was apprehended shortly after the crime occurred.

The driver, identified as 19-year-old Brian Guevara, was booked into county jail on charges of hit and run.
