On 3-18-2023, at approximately 7:45 am, El Cajon Police Officers with San Diego County Probation Department conducted a probation compliance check at the Quality Inn and Suites located at 650 North Mollison Avenue. A 41-year-old male identified as Troy Snelling was on probation for failing to register as a felony sex offender. Officers arrived at the motel to arrest Snelling for violating the terms of his probation from his convicted sex crimes. When officers made contact with him, he threw a plastic bag containing 24.26 grams of methamphetamine out of the motel room sliding glass door. Snelling said he has been using hotel vouchers from Equus since the beginning of January 2023.
